Ascending Choreographer's Festival

Applications will open on April 15, 2022 for the Ascending Choreographer’s Festival, an opportunity for choreographers ages 18-25 to showcase original work and compete for the chance to be presented by The Warehouse Theatre @ E-Street in a split bill performance in January 2023. Choreographers of all genres are encouraged to apply.

 

Ascending Choreographer’s Festival will be presented on  June 24, 2022 at:

The Warehouse Theatre @ E-Street 

2113 Columbia Park Dr.

Edgewood, MD 21040. 

 

All works must be between 3 and 9 minutes long. Works over the time limit will not be considered. Please submit your video by uploading it to YouTube or Vimeo and include the link on your application form. Applications without a video link will not be considered. Do not email your video to The Warehouse Theatre @ E-Street.

An application fee of $15.00 per piece is required. Fees are payable through Venmo and instructions are included in the application form. We are unable to accept other forms of payment. Your fee must be paid before your work will be considered. 

 

The competition to be presented in a split bill performance in January 2023 will be determined by audience vote. Each audience member will receive one vote to cast for their favorite performance of the show.  Choreographers must be present to be considered for the voting process. All votes will be tallied at the end of the evening performance and the winners will be announced.

Dancers and choreographers must be available for technical rehearsal during the day on June 24th. A technical rehearsal schedule will be made promptly after acceptance announcements have been made public.

The deadline to apply is May 30, 2022. You will be notified by email on or before June 5th with our decision of acceptance or rejection. If your piece is selected, you will have one week to submit your program information, technical information, publicity photos, and sound file.

All performers must be at least 13 years old for this event.
